NOTE FROM GINA...

Refreshment In Refuge blog is about nearly anything that passes through my brain on a daily basis. Sometimes I rant at the political shenanigans, sometimes I write on a more personal note, and usually I write about God and His mighty ways. It is astounding to me how utterly intimate God is when I shed the colossal world and turn my ears to His lovely voice.
Please note on the right the series on Spiritual Gifts. If you haven’t taken a look at your gift lately, you need to and this series may help. The most searched gift is Exhorter/Encourager.
I also have written some fiction pieces which I’ve posted here. You might find them inspirational.
I studied journalism in college then detoured spending twenty-five years raising two beautiful daughters and selling everything from yellow page advertising to cemetery property. Then I went back to college and graduated in 2005 (it is never too late children). I've been the Lifestyles Editor at my hometown newspaper, The Picayune Item, in Picayune, Mississippi, as well as an editor for several other publications.
I am a weekly columnist at Studylight.org. Each column comes out on Sundays. Check them out at Studylight.org, center column.
I have extensive experience in grant writing and community development, completing the Basic Economic Development course at Georgia Tech, and the Community Development course at University of Central Arkansas.
Those that have hired me have been very pleased with my work ethics as well as my determination to proved the highest quality of product, designed to fill the need of each client.
What people are saying about Gina...
She has shown great skill in dealing with divisive people without offending them.  Her ability to understand both sides of an argument has been very helpful in resolving problems among members.  She has been a valuable asset to my site. - Jeff Garrison, owner Studylight.org
It is my opinion that Gina Burgess is a person of impeccable character and one of the warmest, most caring people I know. - Kirk Jacobs, owner, ACE DJ Service
All finances were always accounted for, documented, and reported. All was done in a good spirit with the focus always on the goal of helping the abused children of our area. I can say this with all sincerity, that without Gina Burgess there would be no CASA organization in Picayune. - Rev. Kriss Haymes
In our experiences with Gina she was professional, friendly, helpful, and a pleasure to deal with. Her enthusiasm was contagious and we enjoyed dealing with her. We were obviously shocked to learn that she was no longer with the Chamber. Our opinion is that Gina would be an asset to any company and she certainly seems fiercely loyal to whatever the cause she is representing. - Tammy and Jeff Lassere, owners Welbilt Custom Homes
