Thy Word

One night when I couldn't go to sleep, I tried to count up how many books I've read in my lifetime. I wasn't counting the books I've read 2 to 4 times, nor did I count my Bible that I read constantly. I was actually surprised at the number of books. In fourth grade, there was a book ruler on the wall, and every time we turned in a book report, our marker would move along the ruler telling the world how many books each of us had read. But my journey began long before that in second grade when I read that whole reader in a single night of homework, and was crucially bored the rest of the year while the others caught up with me.

That's when I learned how essential story flow is, and how crucial it is to keep the reader's interest.

It is something wonderful how the Bible manages this feat no matter how many times one reads it all the way through. God has buried gold nuggets on every page. As you mature in your spiritual walk, you uncover more and apply them to your life for riches beyond imagination. I marvel every time I open my Bible (or call it up on my computer screen). Only God could breathe something so perfect, and only God can reveal all its truths in all their nuances.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

2 Samuel 7:21  For Your word's sake, and according to Your own heart, You have done all these great things, to make Your servant know them.
