What is Gentleness?

Help me out guys...

I'm working on Gentleness and after trying to define it... I can't get my brain wrapped around it.

What is Gentleness?

  1. I have heard it is strength that one restrains. A horse is strong but may have a gentle temperment...that it restrains it strength.

Hi Miss Gina smothered in sorghum on a Sunday morning!

I just love some of the input on this word from Vine's. "Sweet Reasonableness" what a great description and "not insisting on the letter of the law." I like that it is ACTIVE in dealing with others. Not just a state of mind, but expresses an action!

  4. Pia, this was great! Thank you :)

Traci, I have heard that, too, and it makes sense. Someone also defined it as the opposite of cruel.

Someone else described it as something wild that has been tamed, like a wild horse that has been gentled.

This is probably why God put this as part of the fruit of the Spirit. As natural man, we are depraved and wild; as Christians, we recevied the Spirit and we are gentled.
